The Kentucky Derby is regularly scheduled to be held on the first Saturday in May, but the 2020 running was rescheduled to Saturday, September 5, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. This will be the first time since the 1945 event, due to the World War II, that the event has taken place outside of the regular May schedule.
The Kentucky Derby live stream was postponed to Saturday, September 5. But to fill the gap this weekend, NBC Sports and Churchill Downs are throwing a Kentucky Derby at Home Party. That includes The First Saturday In May: American Pharoah’s Run to the Triple Crown, a look back at American Pharoah’s 2015 Derby win en route to his historic Triple Crown.
